Openings develop and change rapidly. I've found success for all concerned comes most often when I am already in contact with proven professionals, sometimes for months, sometimes for years, and am able to call and discuss a potential opportunity when it arises.

Even if you are not actively seeking new employment now, your situation could change at any time, so it might be fruitful if I have your resume and supporting information on hand (salary needs, geographic preferences, career goals, family needs, et cetera).

What I will not do is broadcast your credentials indiscriminately; our industry is too small for that nonsense. What I will do is call and give you the chance to mull over possibilities, then look into openings that could meet your needs.
